NewDEW is a foundation model built to nurture critical thinking in the next generation.
Rainwater Labs is an artificial intelligence research and foundation model company.
While global AI capabilities have advanced exponentially, foundational vulnerabilities remain. The broader scientific and industrial community's understanding of frontier AI systems lags far behind raw engineering output. Core training methodologies remain highly centralized, creating dangerous platform dependencies and limiting true sovereignty. Furthermore, despite their immense theoretical potential, frontier systems remain structurally rigid—making them incredibly difficult to air-gap, customize, or align with highly specialized values and compliance protocols.
To bridge these gaps, Rainwater Labs is engineering foundational architectures designed to be fundamentally understood, precisely customizable, and highly capable in secure environments. We are a lean team of scientists, engineers, and builders who have spent decades pioneering deep-tech platforms, scaling complex infrastructure, and filing core architectural patents.
We are proponents of Responsible AI.
We believe AI can be a force for good when it augments human capabilities rather than replaces them.
As AI systems become more capable, responsibility cannot be treated as an afterthought. It must be embedded into the design of the system itself.
Our approach is guided by three principles.
Accessible AI
The benefits of AI should not be limited by geography, technical expertise, or economic means.
No individual, community, or nation should be excluded from technological progress simply because they lack the resources to build these systems themselves.
Humane AI
AI should expand human capability, not diminish it.
The purpose of AI is to strengthen human judgment, creativity, and productivity while preserving human agency and accountability.
Sovereign AI
Access to advanced technology should not require the surrender of control.
Nations, institutions, and communities should be able to govern the systems they depend on, including their data, infrastructure, and operational decisions.
The capabilities of AI will continue to advance. The responsibility of those who build it must advance with them. We believe AI systems should remain understandable, governable, and aligned with human interests.
Our goal is simple: to contribute to the development of AI that remains beneficial to people, institutions, and societies — both now and in the future.
